FRIENDS ANTIQUES APPRAISAL DAY
& Friends Cafe

Expert Appraisal by  
MARK PUTNAM of Putnam Auction CO. & Gilbert Ruff of Guilford, VT.
An all-day event to find out what your treasures and heirlooms are really worth. Verbal appraisal.
Fee $5 per item, limit 3. Lght fare served at our Friends Cafe. No firearms or other weapons, no coins or stamps.

Make an appointment during this week to bring in your worthy items for a big sale at the end of the week. The Friends will take only a small consignment fee so that you will get A FAIR PRICE for the items you wish to sell. If you wish to DONATE quality items to the Friends sale, your contribution will be tax deductible to the full extent of the value.
Excluded items - do not bring guns, other weapons, coins, stamps.  Check with us regarding any other excluded items. 802-896-3416.

All Day Consignment Sale, Silent Auction and Evening Cocktail Party
Remember the great fun everyone had at the Red Barn Affair two years ago? The Friends are doing it all over again, but with a new twist. This time, SHOP all day for Consignment items, and BID on top quality Silent Auction items. Later,  in the evening socialize and schmooze at the Cocktail Party of the summer, SHOP a little more and place your FINAL BIDS on the Silent Auction items.
10AM - 3 PM THE CONSIGNMENT SALE
Free admission to the sale during the day only
Antiques, art, collectible, heirlooms and more on sale at the RED BARN.
Also, preview and place an early bid for the Silent Auction items.

 Do you want us to SELL SOME OF YOUR QUALITY ITEMS?
Contact us during the week before about our consignment plan.
We are also accepting quality items you may wish to donate to help our annual fundraising.

Tickets $10 on sale now at the Library.
Join the Friends for a super social evening at the Red Barn. Place your final bids on the Silent Auction, shop the last treasures in the Consignment Sale and PARTY with us over light fare, beer and wine (cash bar). Live music and other entertainment.


Silent Auction Preview -- Items Just donated for the Silent Auction
PRIVATE TOUR FOR 2 OF THE TASHA TUDOR SECRET GARDEN -- Meet the family and join us for this rare opportunity;  a walking tour of the Tudor Family property.  We are pleased to introduce a few new features on the tour this year including a marionette demonstration given by Marjorie in her marionette theatre.  You'll also enjoy Marjorie's garden, Seth Tudor's outdoor woodworking area, and then the tour will take a quiet turn through the maintained portion of Tasha Tudor's garden with distant views of her beloved home. Tour of Tasha's garden includes the pond, vegetable and herb garden. Enjoy the beauty and peace of the Tudor property as your senses drink in the nurturing environment. The Secret Gardens of Tasha Tudor and Family tour involves walking over gravel driveways and the family paths through the woods. This is not a walk for the faint of heart! You must be physically fit and be able to navigate uneven ground in the gardens and uneven ground with roots and rocks through the woods.  At the end of the tour, light refreshments made from Tasha Tudor's Cookbook will be served and the Rookery Gift Shop featuring books, prints, cards, tea, videos, furniture, rare books and much more, will be open. Allow 2 hours.

Gilfeather Turnip Festival
featuring the
Gilfeather Turnip Contest*
Join the whole town as we CELEBRATE OUR TOWN'S DELICIOUS ROOTS. An entire family-oriented day dedicated entirely to one of Vermont's tastiest heirloom vegetables. What would old Farmer Gilfeather think to see us having such a good time with his unusual hybrid tuber? He'd be thrilled! SHOP for turnip gifts, the commemorative Gilfeather T-shirt, Gilfeather movie DVDs, and the ever-popular Gilfeather Turnip Cookbook. Learn the words to the famous Gilfeather Turnip Song with composer and local musician Jimmy Knapp. Come to the TURNIP CAFE for the turnip tastings, where local cooks show off their best Turnip Recipes. Stay for lots of live music, strolling musicians  and more.      This is a one-of-a-kind culinary event!
In the Town Hall - SHOP the Farmer's Market and Craft Tables, BUY tons of turnips at the FRIENDS TURNIP CART, check out the TURNIP CONTEST, enjoy the strolling musicians.
In the Red Barn - EAT at the TURNIP CAFE and vote for your favorite dish, listen to live music, see the Friends fundraising exhibits.

Did you grow a really big one? An ugly one? The most beautiful one ever? Enter your GILFEATHER TURNIP in the contest and win a BLUE RIBBON. Be famous! Entries may be brought in one day ahead or up to 1 PM on the Festival Day. Last year, we had so many turnips to be judged, it was more fun than watching Miss America! FREE TO ENTER.

FRIENDS CRAFTERS CIRCLE
Ample parking, all plowed out.     
Free.
It's an old-fashioned bee! Join the Friends to make hand-crafted holiday ornaments, wreaths and other items for the Holiday Bazaar. Teach someone your craft, or learn a new one from one of us. Sewing, knitting, crocheting, painting, glueing, glittering, wool hooking, beading, felting, wreath-making and more. Materials and tools provided.  No cost to participate.
Lots of chatting and laughter at this weekly "Santa's Workshop."
Crafters meet on the warm and cozy the SECOND FLOOR of the Wardsboro Library  at 170 Main Street.

Holiday Bazaar Bake Sale & Santa
 
There is no better way to fill your heart with HOLIDAY SPIRIT. Join the Friends for an all-day, family oriented event. Last year there were more than 75 different things on the BAKE SALE tables and thousands of decorated cookies. There are hundreds of handmade ornaments for sale and every handcrafted wreath always gets sold, so we happily take orders for more! There is a SOUP CAFE for something warm to eat, with coffee and refreshments. Plus, lots of little holiday and household items in SANTA's GIFT SHOP  for those last minute little gifts - very affordable pricing!

The big guy arrives at Noon and stays until 2 PM. Each child receives a FREE photo with St. Nick and a small gift from his big red bag as well. HO! HO! HO!

Meet the HUSKY SLED DOGS! Wardsboro's hardest working animals, the Siberian Husky sled dogs from Husky Works Mushing Company are stopping by. Who needs reindeer? These loveable, huggable pups are kind and gentle, even with tykes. Learn about what it takes to be a great sled dog. 
This is MIA - see, she's smiling and she can't wait to meet you!
